Potty Training

I know a lot of you probably could care less about this update but this is a huge milestone and pretty much our last!!! I posted last month about our potty training journey! Well I have to say that I am so excited we are 95% out of diapers...why 95%? Well, we still are not night trained quite yet but we are getting there slowly....I am not too worried about nightly yet, because buying a small pack of $9 pull-ups beats buying a large $26 box twice a month.

We did 2 weeks of sitting on the potty every 20-30 minutes. And lots of rewards when she did go. I used a few apps on my phone to remind me and do virtual sticker chart and receiving a phone call. Potty Time was the one that has the phone call & virtual sticker chart...and Potty Baby I used for the timer and to keep track

Then we did week & half of bare bottom and her trying to know when to actually know to go. This we had a few accidents but I think this was the best way to get her to know that feeling. A lot of people actually had suggested this but the first time I tried she peed on the couch....so I had to make sure we had a few potty trips before we started this. We are now in fancy pants (as Breanna calls them) and she lets us know when she has to go. We still kind of struggle on car rides so if we are going anywhere longer than 20 minutes we will do a pull-up just to be safe.

I am so so proud of my girl, she isn't even 2 1/2 yet and she did this all on her own!! While I am excited I am kind of sad because she is no longer a baby and she is such a big girl!!! So if I can offer any advice to mommies in this journey...as a friend told me let them take the lead and it will happen! Don't stress it will just make it hard for the both of you.

Bittersweet...

This is the last bit of "baby" I have in my girl! She is growing up way too fast

Last week, we were just hanging out at home and Breanna mentions "I have to tinkle mommy" ok fine kid...I thought this was a fluke since she said this to B the week before and nothing came out of it.....well to my surprise she went! So that day we tried a few more times and success! So potty training is in full force!

So, I searched for some apps to help us keep track of everything happening and some reward system. We are doing a treat every time she goes along w stickers & a phone  call from the one app we downloaded. She really looks fwd to that!

Now, my goal was trying to have her trained by her 3rd birthday and I wasn't planning on even starting until late fall/early winter!  I haven't done the stay home for a few days straight yet, but she has been doing pretty good.

Yes we have had accidents but that's to be expected but 90% of the time we go to sit on the potty she goes(even if she sits for a few minutes)....right now we are down to going every 20 minutes, I am hoping soon we can cut that to 30 then 40 and so on.

We haven't gotten down the going out and letting us know or even letting us know when she has to go but, it's a start and I am super proud of her! She is a total rock star

let the fun begin-

Potty training fun that is...I know most of you don't find joy in what I am about to post, (sorry not sorry!) but if you are a mom, you know where I am coming from.

So we have been familiarizing Breanna w. the potty over the past few months but never really went full force, she would sit on it every so often or say potty mommy but never actually go.

So Friday before bed, I just thought why not try...and sure enough, we had success!!! I thought this may be a fluke since she WAS drinking water while sitting on it but hey she still went! So she got her `potty treat` animal cracker and went to bed.

Saturday we were out most of the day at a friends birthday party so we didn't do anything, Saturday night we had another success!

Sunday we tried a few times and she just sat and sat and sat with nothing and then the last time before bed, SUCCESS! While we haven't had success every time we  have tried I am excited she has gone those few times.

So if anyone has any tips for this rookie....throw them at me!

Veteran mamas...need your input

As we are approaching the two year mark next week, I am in need of some advice from all you veteran mamas!!! You all know that big milestone we love to hate...Potty Training!!!!

The biggest piece of advice I have received so far is let her lead and let her tell you when she is ready! Ok great! We currently have a potty that she is familiar w. and she also goes in with me every so often so she is aware of what is going on. She has sat on it with clothes on and every once in awhile will go over and sit down and say go potty! Another piece of advice I got is go bare bottom, I don't know if we really can do that....we have carpet and I dont know if that would be wise, or if you have some bare bottom tips that would be amazing!

Just curious is there anything I can do to prepare her? What helped you when you started? how old was your LO, what were your struggles and what do you wish people wouldve told you or helped you with?

I know this isn't going to happen overnight, I just want this to be easy as possible on both of us! I want to be prepared! So if you could let me know whatever you can!!!

potty training

So the potty training had officially started! My aunt bought Breanna a princess potty and  we picked it up went to visit them last weekend, when we got home and saw it she freaked! She was so excited, mainly because it had Tilela(aka Cinderella) on it! So once we got it out she loved it!

Right now we are just familiarizing her with it.  While I know she is still young and I am not trying to force it on her I would love for it to be an easy transition! And it's never too early to start. She is sitting on it and if we do have it up she will make me pull it down!

So moms what are some tips, tricks or advice do you have for this rookie! Is there anything that you did that helped transition easy? I will be keeping a reward chart with stickers for re-enforcement once we really start into it. But I would love any advice you could give!
