Indefinite

Well, it's been quite awhile since I've been here (I'm not sure if anyone really even checks in here anymore). Even though I have missed sitting down and writing, a part of me has not missed it at all. I think I am going to step away for a bit but I dont know when (or if) I will be back. I just feel like I could be doing more things than sitting here staring at my computer screen trying to come up with things to write about. With Bre in school now I just feel like I need to spend as much time as possible focusing on her because if I am going to be honest she is growing up too fast for my liking and I feel if I blink she will be a teenager.
I value all the friendships I have made through this blog and I hope to still keep in touch with you all! Please come find me on Twitter or Instagram

Thankful

Another week just flying by in the blink of an eye, so some days we need to take a few moments to just stop and remember the little things to be happy/thankful for....

  • Awesome pre-school. Breanna absolutely loves it there and I am so glad we were able to get in
  • my health. I had a few friends that have lost people close to them lately and it just goes to show we aren't always guaranteed tomorrow. And it was sudden with no warning. They were both young in their mid 30's
  • family & friends. Though things may get tough at times, I wouldn't want to go through life with anyone else, and I know no matter what they always will make me smile and get me through.
  • Online services. With life being hectic, sometimes I cant make it to service on the weekends, I am so glad that I am able to catch it online. Whether it be live or on Monday, I love that I am still able to feel like I am involved!)

and just like that....

she is off to school! Last week we had orientation and first day of preschool! It really wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be but it's only 2.5 hours 3 days a week! I think next year when she goes to Kindergarten.

Wednesday we had orientation and got to go see her classroom and meet her teachers! While she had time in the class room, we went to a meeting with the director and got to learn all about the school and policies and procedures. One little girl from her gymnastics class ended up being in her class so she was pretty excited about that. We only ended up being there an hour so it was an easy day.

Friday was the actual first day (with the holiday on Monday the schedule was a bit weird). But we got there a little before 9 and she found her little friend from gym and made friends with another little boy and when the teachers came, she had no hesitation and off she went!

I got a chance to go to Target ALONE! It was peaceful, had a Starbucks, and got to walk around at my own pace no dragging me into the toy aisles. And surprisingly I only spent $20! Headed home to do some stuff around the house and before I knew it was time to go pick her up! She loved it and I am not surprised! So should be a great year for my big girl!!!

Thankful

Well here I am again...it's been too long since Ive done a Thankful post and I need to get back into this (if nothing else!) So today I want to stop and remember the small things in my life that I am thankful for....

Today I am thankful for....
  • Being able to 'attend' services while not leaving my house. Sometimes it is hard for me to get to church with B's work schedule (and only having one car.) So I found a church (similar to ours) that does live services so I dont feel like I am missing out.
  • Getting a morning spot for pre-school. As I mentioned yesterday we got a call a few weeks a spot opened up
  • Living in a small town and being able to walk everywhere (when we are without a car!)
  • The awesome people who snagged up all of Bre's old toys. Im trying to finally get rid of things we dont need anymore and so far we are doing well.
  • As always family and friends. I will always be thankful for the amazing people in my life.

just dropping in...

Honestly I am not sure if anyone even 'reads' this anymore but if you do Thank You for sticking around and I am still alive! First how is it already September??? I am beyond excited (hello FALL!) but this year is flying!.

We have just enjoying the last bit of summer before we start pre-school next week! YUP! I dont know if I am ready for it or not....but I think it will be all good! I recently got a call that a morning spot opened up for Bre at Pre-School so I scooped that up. So now instead of T/Th 1230-330 she will go MWF 9-1130. She keeps asking me when she starts school (her BFF started Monday so she is ready too I think!).

We really haven't been up-to much lately. Hanging with friends and just enjoying life. We started a new year at the gym and Breanna is still loving every second of it!  We booked a room for the beach for next year and I cant wait to go!!! We haven't been to the beach since Bre was 1. I am beyond redy for fall and cooler temps (this week has been super hot and I have been staying in the AC cause I cant deal!)
I am really hoping to get back into a groove here on this little space but I just feel like this whole blog world is slowing down and not many people are around anymore like it used to be, so time will tell but if you want to keep up follow me on Twitter and Instagram
Well that's all I got for now...sorry this is boring and picture-less. Hope to be back full-time soon!!! I need to catch up with all my lovies!

Pura Vida [pure life]...........

I previously mentioned, I recently discovered PuraVida bracelets (think friendship bracelets revamped!!!)

I made my first purchase last weekend & I am OBSESSED. The best thing I love about them is they are waterproof!!! Meaning you never have to take them off! (this is just 2 of the 6 I ordered! The black one is B's. 2 from my original order were back ordered so I am waiting for them to ship!)

I am not posting about these because I was asked to, I am posting because I truly feel like its an amazing company and they will be around for a long time! I have jumped on a few companies thinking things would go far but seriously this one is AMAZING!!!! Also for every purchase you make, provides FULL TIME JOBS for local artisans in Costa Rica. They also have a charity collection. The charity collection was created to give back to charities all over the world with the sale of each bracelet! In 2013 they were able to donate over $140,000 to 190+ charities

I have signed up as a rep to share my new found love for these awesome bracelets! Click here to start shopping and also you can use code CARIROBERTS10 and get 10% off!!!I promise you will not be disappointed!!!

Thankful

Happy Friday Eve! I have been wanting to come and write but every time I come to this little space of mine, I just sit here and stare at a blank screen and nothing comes to mind but I wanted to stop in today and just stop and remember all the little things in life to be thankful for

I am thankful for........

  •  a  new season of gymnastics. We have a new coach this year (she was one of the assistants last year) and Breanna LOVES her so it makes it more exciting for her! So far on the first day, I can already tell this year is going to be awesome & so much fun for the kids and Miss Ashley is such a light and so amazing with all the little ones
  • Coffee- seriously I dont know what I would do without it!
  • amazing friendships. You know that one friend you dont see for awhile but when you finally get together it's like you pick up where you left off.
  • This amazing fall like weather!!! It is supposed to go back to hot/humid this weekend so I am thoroughly enjoying these cooler temps! Have I mentioned I am so ready for fall?
  • manicures- yes it's a small thing but seriously this is one thing I look forward to every few weeks, it's MY time to relax and just get pampered

What are YOU thankful for this week?

Fri-yay

Happy Friday ladies!!! This week has flown by like whoa! I am not complaining but I feel like it was just Monday. I  have a lot of stuff do around the house so this will probably be short! (I also apologize for my lack of pictures)

I slacked this week on here but we had a pretty busy week this week and I am excited for the weekend even though we dont have a lot planned. Yesterday we had some amazingly cooler weather and I'm sure I will get bashed for this but  it really made me ready for fall (just not whats to follow!) Ready for fall smells (hello BBW! Im looking at you lets get those fall candles OUT!) cooler weather, jeans, sweaters, long sleeves and boots!

We got Breanna re-signed up for gymnastics and she is so excited to start next week!

I realized after seeing a million BTS commercials, that I need to do clothes shopping for Bre for SCHOOL. ((sad mama!)) I am so not ready for this yet.

I dont know if I am late to the game with this but I recently came across these super cute PuraVida  bracelets. Not only are they super cute, they are reasonably prices, waterproof, they also provide jobs for artisans in Costa Rica. I am hoping to become a rep so if I do, I will hook you all up with a discount code. I am ordering a few this weekend .

We are going to get new phones this weekend I cant wait, this one I currently have has been crapping out on me a lot lately so I am switching back to iPhone. T-Mobile has a new program called JUMP!On Demand we are switching to where I guess if a newer model phone comes out (even a month or 2 after you just purchased) you can trade-in no questions asked.

Well, I better get my ass in gear and start things around here....have a fabulous weekend loves

weekend stuff

I cant believe it's already August! This year is flying by way too fast. This week is going to be a busy one for us,(gymnastics registration, play date, doctors appts, and preschool to drop off stuff and Im sure more unplanned) I'm already exhausted just thinking about it.

This weekend was a pretty relaxing one with no set plans as I mentioned before B had the whole weekend off  (since he was switching from night to day shift). Friday the kiddo  and I watched Wreck it Ralph  (Baxter weaseled his way on my lap too) and just relaxed since B had to work. Once Bre headed to bed, I caught up on some shows and headed to bed around 1030

Saturday made a yummy breakfast and got ready while B slept from getting home at 7am, once he got up and ready we headed out to check out Field and Stream that was just recently put in, went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then headed to the movies to see Inside Out. We originally were going to see Minions but it wasn't playing until later so we convinced her to go see this and she really enjoyed it. (we did too!)

Sunday our normal Aldi/Costco morning trip (I made sure I picked up lots of healthy snacks this trip (mango, avocado, peaches, and grapefruit)), had lunch at Costco (cant beat $9 for a lunch) once we got home we enjoyed the gorgeous weather chatted with the neighbors and hung outside for a bit, watched Big Hero 6, cooked burgers on the grill and just relaxed the rest of the day.

oh! hey friday!

How is it already end of July?!?!?! As I mentioned yesterday, this week was kind of boring due to hot weather....but I felt the need to post again......I apologize for lack of pictures in this post but sometimes a list post is just what is needed

*B has the ENTIRE weekend so I am looking forward to some family time this weekend! Sometimes I love a weekend with zero plans and just a go with the flow and do whatever

*We recently got cable back and Ive been trying to catch up on old shows I used to watch and I came across a new one called Odd Mom Out.....so funny!

*I was scrolling through movies on demand to watch the other day and I remember wanting to see Moms' Night Out when it first came out and I finally got around to watching it, defintielely a great movie for a girls night!!!

*I got my Blockhead shirt in the mail this week and I am obsessed, I think I may need to order another in a different style.

*We finally got to see friends we haven't seen in a month for a play-date, it was a short one but it was so great to catch up and the girls surely missed each other!

I will never get sick of mentioning the fact that Donnie Wahlberg tweeted me!!! Seriously I freaked out good thing B was working night shift because he would've thought I was off my rocker .

Have a fabulous weekend ladies....Linking up with these lovely ladies today......

Thankful

This week has been EXTREMELY hot so we haven't done too much other than stay cool in the AC, but I still wanted to stop in(even if it is a small list!) and remember those little things...

I am thankful for.....

  •   my family! I am so blessed that they are mine!!! (This will always be on my list no matter what)
  • Donnie Wahlberg Twugs (twitter hugs)!!!!!!!!!!!  If you are ever having a rough day, this man right here always can turn it around (at least for me)his kindness & love for all his fans is amazing. To some this may seem silly but seriously to get a tweet from this man makes my day!

    •  coffee...seriously I dont know how I would get through a day without it!
    • AC- with these crazy hot temps this week, I am so glad we have AC
Linking up w Vanessa also today......What are YOU thankful for this week?

    southern fun

As I mentioned before Breanna and I headed to visit my sister and her family last week. We drove down with my sister-in-law and her boys'. We left early (730am) Saturday morning and got some much needed  Dunkin' and hit the road! We made a few pit stops and then for lunch. It was a really nice drive and we made good time....
Once we got down there the kids bolted out of the car and took off to play w cousins. They ordered some pizza and of course our kids refused to eat because they were too excited to see each other. Lots of running around and trampoline jumping was done. It was SUPER hot all week and us northerners are NOT used to that kind of heat
Sunday we just relaxed, ran and got some groceries for the week and hung out nothing too exciting happened, just let the kids play. Monday we headed to $1 movies to see Home. It was a really cute movie.Tuesday- Lake & s'mores
    Wednesday-park and Chick-fil-a for lunch

Thursday- relax and took a walk up to the pond in their sub-division.  Friday- we headed back to the lake and then went to Dairy Queen after for lunch and ice cream
Saturday we were up bright and early (despite not hearing my alarm!) to hit the road home. We went a different way home and it was a really nice drive despite being stuck in traffic for almost 30 minutes at one point because people cant drive through a tunnel. I thought Pittsburghers were bad driving through the tunnels but damn we were literally at a standstill and we thought there was an accident. We lost a lot of time and didnt make it home until 10:00ish, well to my brothers, we didnt get home until almost 11. ' The kids were great though....so thankful for DVD player in the van.
We had a fun trip and every time I go down there, I want to move down but then the heat hits and I realize I would NOT enjoy summers (unless of course I had a pool).

    Fri-YAY (anniversary edition)

Happy Friday! This will probably be a short n sweet post. I have slacked too long on getting things ready for our trip Sunday, so I need to get my butt in gear and get things around the house done, so B doesn't have too much to do. So lets get to it....

Though I dont even think B really reads this...I wanted to wish my him a happy (5 year!) anniversary! I truly cant believe that it's been 5 years! (We have been together 10, which is even crazier to me!!!!) As I mentioned yesterday, we are finally getting to go out to dinner just the 2 of us tomorrow(thanks Mom and Carol!) after B gets off work, I cant wait to chow down on some hibachi & sushi!!!

I truly feel so blessed to be married to such a sweet, caring and loving man, we have had MANY ups and downs and I truly wouldn't want to share it with anyone else. He is my true soulmate and my best friend.  I just wanted to share a few of my favorite pictures today...

I will be back some point once I get back from our little trip so have a fabulous weekend and fabulous next week....Linking up with these lovely ladies today......

    Thankful

I had a little extra time this morning before kiddo wakes up, so I thought I would do a little Thankful Thursday post! Things have been a little crazier this week getting ready for our vacation...I am also linking up w Vanessa for Thinking-out-loud Thursday....

    Today I am thankful for.....
    • MUCH needed date night w B this weekend to celebrate our 5 year Anniversary. Since he isn't going with us, it will be nice to go out just him and I and enjoy each others company. Its been over a year since we've been out
    • My mom & Aunt for watching Breanna so we can go out to dinner
    • my mom for watching Baxter so I dont have to drag him with us since Brad will be working
    • great customer service at T-Mobile. I recently updated my phone system and I guess there is a glitch on Samsung end, and my phone would randomly shut off or freeze. So I called and they sent me a new phone next day
    • 1800contacts. Seriously, this site is freaking awesome, I was out of contacts and needed them ASAP before we left for vacation. I was able to get them in 3 days from when I ordered them (with a little extra for shipping but will now have free shipping on 3 days here on out)

What are YOU thankful for today?

weddings, birthday celebrations, family and fun

Ever have one of those weekends that you need a recovery from the weekend? That is how I am feeling! It was a fun filled weekend for sure! I do admit tho, at times (since I do stay at home) I enjoy a busy weekend! And this one surely did NOT disappoint!
Friday I got some stuff done around the house while B was at work and we just chilled out and watched Rio 2 until kiddo went to bed then watched some Blue Bloods
Saturday morning got a much needed mani/pedi (seriously one of my favorites) and then did some running around before heading back home to get ready for the wedding! Our friends Brad and Jen got married and we unfortunately missed the ceremony but the reception was so much fun and everything was absolutely beautiful. Breanna was her shy self at first because she was in a place with a lot of random people she didn't know but she made friends w the flower girls and had so much fun dancing and just playing in the photo-booth. I kind of regret not having one at our wedding, they are so much fun and a great way to get some funny/fun shots of all the guests. I was hoping to stay a little later than we did but when a certain little lady gets tired you have to leave.

I unfortunately didn't get much sleep, Breanna woke up around 1 from a bad dream and Baxter ended up peeing in his crate since he had nothing to lay on so I brought him downstairs to sleep and every time I would move to get comfortable he would move closer and closer and  our couch isn't the most comfortable to sleep on.
Sunday was up earlier than I would've liked. We did the normal grocery shopping and normal Sunday errands, and then headed out to my nephews' birthday party at the trampoline park. I was really hoping Breanna would like it at first she was hesitant (it is a pretty big place) but then she saw another little girl her age on and she was like I wanna jump! And boy did she!!! They had a little over an hour of jump time and she didn't stop until the time was up!  I foresee a lot of trampoline jumping in our future w her.

This week should be fairly busy, we have some things to do before Breanna and I head on vacation. I kind of started packing (throwing a bunch of things in the suitcase) My sister said it's going to be almost 100* next week, so I dont know how I am going to prepare for that, hopefully lots of time near water! Have a wonderful week. I will try and pop in before we head south!
